ABOUT IPTAY AND CLEMSON ATHLETICS:
The Clemson University Athletic Department, one of the nation’s premier athletic and academic brands, sponsors 21 NCAA Division-I sports and supports more than 500 student-athletes. The department relies on the support of IPTAY (originally – I pay ten a year), which was founded in 1934. It is now one of the of the most successful athletic fundraising organizations, providing millions of dollars in scholarships for student-athletes and non-athletes alike and substantial support for programs and facilities that help Clemson Athletics build championship-level programs. IPTAY MISSION STATEMENT:
IPTAY provides resources to support the academic, athletic, and personal development of Clemson University student-athletes and the competitive success of Clemson Athletics.
SUMMARY:
Reports to the Director of Premium Hospitality & Donor Engagement. Responsible for the effective management of the premium seating and hospitality areas for football, basketball, gymnastics and baseball spaces. Manage game-day operations in assigned premium seating areas and communication plan for premium seat donors. Coordinate rental events calendar and operations for athletics and IPTAY event spaces.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Include, but are not limited to:
- Assist the Director of Premium Hospitality and Events in strategically executing gameday operations for premium spaces, ensuring seamless and exceptional customer experiences for Memorial Stadium, Littlejohn Coliseum, and Doug Kingsmore Stadium.
- Serve as point of contact for basketball premium operations. Establish and maintain a comprehensive donor communications calendar for all basketball operations including overseeing the creation of updated websites, menus, operations manuals, and newsletters.
- Manage the HR and payroll functions for interns and IPTAY Tiger Team staff event staff. Assist the Director in developing a plan to recruit, hire and train the team. Oversee the hours documentation and payroll approval for interns and IPTAY Tiger Team staff.
- Establish IPTAY's external and internal event rental protocol for premium seating spaces outside of normal gameday operations. Handle reservations, assist third-party vendors, and manage event operations.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure seamless execution of rental events in Memorial Stadium, maintaining clear communication and transparency throughout the process. Continuously evaluate and optimize the event contract process.
- Assist in preparing, negotiating, and ensuring the fulfillment of contracts with vendors and service providers including but not limited to catering, custodial, and security.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (IPTAY and Clemson Athletic Department) regarding the day-to-day operations of the hospitality team to improve customer satisfaction and experience.
- Provide and maintain a high level of customer service for donors and guests.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to interact effectively and professionally with donors and University constituents.
- Experience managing part time and hourly employees.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office products and database systems.
- Comfort with managing multiple projects simultaneously and accurately.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability, desire, and willingness to work collaboratively in a team-based environment with internal and external constituencies.
- Ability to initiate and maintain effective collaboration and communication with campus partners, administrators, donors, faculty, and students.
- The highest standards of professionalism and performance as evidenced by consistency and quality of output, timeliness and follow-through, discretion, and a strong appreciation for special needs associated with sensitive data and commitment to keep confidential all data related to the Clemson, IPTAY, and its alumni and donors.
- Evidence of self-motivation and initiative, and the ability to work both independently and in teams, with high personal standards representative of the University’s commitment to excellence.
- Strong project management skills necessary to set and monitor progress against goals, engage stakeholders, develop plans and timelines, and to measure success toward goals.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree
- 1-3 years of hospitality, customer service, development, or communications experience.
