JOB SUMMARY: 

The Premium Hospitality intern is responsible for working with the Premium Hospitality team to plan, prepare, and carry out all operations of the premium areas for Memorial Stadium, Littlejohn Coliseum, and Doug Kingsmore Stadium. This internship program is a paid position that will start August 2024 and will end May 2025.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary duties to include, but not limited to the following: 

  • Assist the Premium Hospitality team in strategically executing gameday operations for premium spaces, ensuring seamless and exceptional customer experiences for Memorial Stadium, Littlejohn Coliseum, and Doug Kingsmore Stadium.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (IPTAY and Clemson Athletic Department) regarding the day-to-day operations of the hospitality team to improve customer satisfaction and experience.
  • Provide and maintain a high level of customer service for donors and guests.
  • Assist the hospitality team in managing the HR and payroll functions for interns and IPTAY Tiger Team staff event staff.
  • Assist the hospitality team in developing a plan to recruit, hire and train the team. Oversee the hours documentation and payroll approval for interns and IPTAY Tiger Team staff.
  • Manage rental events: Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure seamless execution of rental events in Memorial Stadium, maintaining clear communication and transparency throughout the process. Continuously evaluate and optimize the event contract process.
  • Uphold exclusivity of premium areas.  
  • Secure and clean suites and club areas post-game. 
  • Guide Tiger Team members on assigned suite floors or club areas during stocking and game days.
  • Maintain organization of football prep items during week prior to game days.
  • Actively listen to IPTAY donors, guests, and vendors to improve gameday experience each week.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Able to work all 7 home games and Fridays prior to home football games at Memorial StadiumSeptember 7/8, September 20/21, September 27/28, October 19/20, November1/2, November 22/23, November 29/30, and our potential CFP Game on December 19/20/21.
  • Service-first mindset.
  • Ability to initiate and maintain effective collaboration and communication with campus partners, administrators, donors, faculty, and students.
  • Able to work flexible hours (evenings, weekends, holidays).
  • Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills. 
  • Comfort with managing multiple requests and tasks simultaneously and accurately. 
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office products and database systems.
  • Comfort with managing multiple projects simultaneously and accurately.
  • Ability, desire, and willingness to work collaboratively in a team-based environment with internal and external constituencies.
  • The highest standards of professionalism and performance as evidenced by consistency and quality of output, timeliness and follow-through, discretion, and a strong appreciation for special needs associated with sensitive data and commitment to keep confidential all data related to the Clemson, IPTAY, and its alumni and donors.
  • Evidence of self-motivation and initiative, and the ability to work both independently and in teams, with high personal standards representative of the University’s commitment to excellence.
  • Work a minimum of 8 hours on game day. 
  • Must successfully complete a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen. 

 MINIMUM EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

  • Working toward a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree
  • 1-2 years of hospitality, customer service, development, or communications experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • 18 years or older 
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds for set-up, service, and clean-up of the suite/club 
  • Ability to stand and walk for the entire length of shift, including walking up and down stairs and lifting as the work duties demand.
