The Clemson University Athletic Department, one of the nation’s premier athletic and academic brands, sponsors 21 NCAA Division-I sports and supports more than 500 student-athletes. The department relies on the support of IPTAY (originally – I pay ten a year), which was founded in 1934. It is now one of the of the most successful athletic fundraising organizations, providing millions of dollars in scholarships for student-athletes and non-athletes alike and substantial support for programs and facilities that help Clemson Athletics build championship-level programs. IPTAY staff help student-athletes be top competitors both on the field and in the classroom and receive many opportunities that come with being a part of this important organization. IPTAY is supported through annual donations, gift planning, and major gifts. Each is vital to the success of Clemson Athletics.

IPTAY MISSION STATEMENT:

IPTAY provides resources to support the academic, athletic, and personal development of Clemson University student-athletes and the competitive success of Clemson Athletics.

JOB SUMMARY: 

The IPTAY Operations intern is responsible for working with the IPTAY Executive Administrative Assistant to plan, prepare, and carry out operations for the IPTAY Board and the daily operations of the McCarter Family IPTAY Center. This internship program is a paid position that will start August 2025 and will end December 2025. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary duties to include, but not limited to the following: 

  • Assist in strategically planning and executing gameday operations for the IPTAY Board Suite
  • Assist in strategically planning and executing the IPTAY Board Meetings on August 28-29 and November 20-21, 2025
  • Assist in implementing and improving the daily operations of the McCarter Family IPTAY Center
  • Assist in working with the IPTAY Communication team on designated projects and tasks
  • Order and organize McCarter Family IPTAY Center office and kitchen supplies
  • Plan, order, and assist in executing meals for working IPTAY staff on Fridays before home football games (August 29, September 5, September 19, October 17, October 31, November 21)
  • Organize and update IPTAY and IPTAY Board documents and resources.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to work a minimum of 12-15 hours per week, and especially Fridays.
  • Service-first mindset
  • Ability to initiate and maintain effective collaboration and communication with campus partners, administrators, donors, faculty, and students
  • Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills
  • Comfort with managing multiple requests, projects, and tasks simultaneously and accurately. 
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office products and database systems
  • Ability, desire, and willingness to work collaboratively in a team-based environment with internal and external constituencies
  • The highest standards of professionalism and performance as evidenced by consistency and quality of output, timeliness and follow-through, discretion. Demonstrate a strong appreciation for special needs associated with sensitive data and commitment to keep confidential all data related to the Clemson, IPTAY, and its alumni and donors
  • Evidence of self-motivation and initiative as well as the ability to work both independently and in teams. Demonstrate high personal standards representative of the University’s commitment to excellence
  • Must successfully complete a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen

 MINIMUM EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

  • Working toward a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • 18 years or older 
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds for set-up, service, and clean-up of the suite/club 
  • Ability to stand and walk for the entire length of shift, including walking up and down stairs and lifting as the work duties demand.
